Meet The Artists

Susan Fowler

Susan is a leading UK contemporary pressed flower and mixed media artist. Her gallery SUSAN FOWLER FINE ART GALLERY is based inside Treasure. Susan’s work is inspired by Cornwall and it’s coastline. Her time spent kayaking on the coast inspired her interest in the shapes and colours visible in the sea and sky.

She selects flora from her Cornish garden and windswept local seaweed which she lays on luxurious silks and satins with lightcatching mixed media including precious stones and metallic threads. Her designs include abstract, intricate collages, sunsets, sunrises and coastal views.

Her statement pieces are known to mesmerise the viewer with their impact, flow and sense of depth leaving a lasting impression. Her work is held in private collections in the UK and worldwide.

Her work has evolved to include ceramics (pendants, ceramic artworks, hanging decorations for the home and artworks combining her artwork with acrylics on canvas and ceramic pieces made by her).

Lisa has lived in Cornwall since 2005 and she is inspired by the surroundings, particularly the sea and the creative networks here, when making her jewellery.

Lisa loves experimenting with colour and in lampworking this becomes part of the process of designing beautiful beads which she then anneals to strengthen the glass.

Lisa also qualified as a Crystal healer in 2000, after completing a 2 year diploma and she enjoys mixing her knowledge of crystals and colour psychology when creating some of her jewellery. This is often ensuring the crystals and colours used in different combinations work with the body instead of against it.
