Lisa specialises in the skilled craft of making lampwork beads which, simply put, involves creating new colour mixes, shapes and designs from the raw materials, which include glass rods, frit and mica. Her range of handcrafted beaded jewellery is mesmerising, each bead she creates is unique. Her work has evolved to include ceramics (pendants, ceramic artworks, hanging decorations for the home and artworks combining her artwork with acrylics on canvas and ceramic pieces made by her).
Lisa has lived in Cornwall since 2005 and she is inspired by the surroundings, particularly the sea and the creative networks here, when making her jewellery.
Lisa loves experimenting with colour and in lampworking this becomes part of the process of designing beautiful beads which she then anneals to strengthen the glass.
Lisa also qualified as a Crystal healer in 2000, after completing a 2 year diploma and she enjoys mixing her knowledge of crystals and colour psychology when creating some of her jewellery. This is often ensuring the crystals and colours used in different combinations work with the body instead of against it.
